Our Journey

During Covid

We have been developing this project since July 2021. Over lockdown, we had several zoom and in-person meetings which led to a couple of weeks of devising development at the NDT Broadgate, London, during February, and March 2022.

WORK IN PROGRESS AT CAMDEN PEOPLE'S THEATRE

MARCH 2022

We culminated this first devising stage at The Camden People’s Theatre Festival. We tested this 30-minute work-in-progress that helped us test our idea on 60 people. It was a sold-out performance and the feedback that we received was very positive, with the Latinx Community attendees mentioning the paramount need for work like this to be crafted.

ENGINE ROOMS AT OMNIBUS THEATRE

OCTOBER 2022

We were part of Engine Rooms at Omnibus Theatre. This time our team got bigger and we had collaborations with Amanda Vilanova, scriptwriter; Tara Hoyos-Martinez, director and Ana Álvarez, movement director. As it was the first time we were trying out moments of surrealism, we were nervous but the audience loved it. Then we knew we were ready to combine what we previously made at Camden's Peoples Theatre with what we created at Omnibus Theatre.

TRY AGAIN AT THE HOPE THEATRE

20TH AND 21ST NOVEMBER

We took a leap in faith performing for two nights. And it paid off - We had two soldout performances in November. Members of the audience wanted to get tickets but they all sold out! We loved every single step of the development process of Try Again. From an idea to making the audience laugh and question what we put on stage. The audience's feedback is crucial for us and we are now looking at 2023 feeling hopeful and excited.
